June Newsletter: Messages of Love

I sent out a newsletter earlier today, reflecting on the way A Course in Miracles characterizes thought as messengers we send into the world. I wrote in part:

The effectiveness of this metaphor rests on understanding that the mind which sends the messengers out is also the mind which receives them back. We are sender and receiver both. We are talking to ourselves. There is no “out there” and “in here.” There is just thought: there is just this flux. This is it.

Our experience of inner peace rests on understanding in an experiential way that the secret to salvation is but that we are doing this – separating ourselves from reality – ourselves (T-27.VIII.10:1). Grasp this and the painful and lonely game we play is over.

If you’re interested in signing up for the newsletter, you can do so here. As always I hope it’s helpful and if it’s not, no hard feelings. I am, like you, finding my way.

Thank you, as always, for being here.

  1. I heard Ven. Losang Gendun explain how color is proof that there is no “out there.” Scientifically we know of wavelengths and the cones in our eyes and the brain processing, but the experience of color is entirely within (and NOT the brain!). Deepak speaks of happiness being in, and going out to be experienced in form, which is still just experienced within anyway! I’m glad Sean clarified for me about the “messengers” of the course, because it fits now just like the others! The Course may be a reformation of Christianity’s message, but now it is even so much more helpful with sources such as this blog.
Clear Sailing to Sean and all! Mike
