Communication

Communication is a form of sharing. This can reflect the use of language and other symbols characteristic of separation, but it can also reflect the abstract perfection of love and happiness, which is how the mind communicates. Communication emphasizes the shared nature of salvation – it takes two to communicate. Communication is also another way of distinguishing between form and content, a critical concept in A Course in Miracles. The form of communication – talking or writing, say – is different from what is being shared, which is always either love or a call for love. By listening to the Holy Spirit, and becoming skilled at its kind of communication, we learn to recognize in the various forms of sharing that appear, only love and the call for love. This simplifies salvation, and allows us to teach and learn with greater ease.
