Lack

Lack refers to the sense that something is missing in our lives and it is our responsibility to account for it – i.e., find the one who took it and get it back. Lack underlies all specialness and all special relationships. It is often experienced as a perennial absence of cosmic proportions (of love, of meaning, of spiritual health), always urging us to seek a specific form that will alleviate our pain. Lack is essential to the ego‘s belief system, especially its insistence that while we are encouraged to seek, we must never find what we seek. Thus, it is a hallmark of separation. The Holy Spirit heals our perception of lack by reminding us that we both have and are everything.
