Specialness is a quality that the separated cherish, because it provides a temporary respite to the guilt and fear endemic in separation. To be special is to be favored and set apart. Specialness de-emphasizes our shared equality and shared interests in favor of personal needs and wants. It emphasizes the individual over the Sonship. Indeed, it pits the individual against the Sonship. By insisting on separation, specialness emphasizes sacrifice and loss under false claims to be love. Specialness is healed by the Holy Spirit‘s gentle teaching that we are in fact one.
