Defense

Defense is a technique employed by those who believe they are separated as a means of protecting what they believe is their own. This can be an object like a house or a person like a child. It can be an idea or a personal quality. All defense assumes separation as its foundation. You and I have competing interests and are dedicated only to those interests. Thinking this way always leads to conflict. Defenses are always unsuccesful attacks because, by emphasizing separation, they hurt the one who uses them as much as the one against whom they are used. Love needs no defense. When we are feeling defensive, it is a sign that we are confused about what we are and are not trusting God‘s Will.
